Dr. Mohamed Sameh AMR is Professor and Chair of the International Law Dept., Cairo University (Egypt) and Visiting Professor at SciencesPo (Paris) and Verona University (Italy). Throughout his career, Prof. Amr has worked in three complementary fields. In the field of Academia, Prf. Amr. has taught courses in several Egyptian universities and institutions, such as Cairo University, American University in Cairo (AUC), Ain Shams University, Egyptian Centre of Diplomatic Studies, Egyptian National Center for Judicial Studies and Institute of Arab Studies and Researches (Arab League). He also taught in many institutions and Centers in the Arab region in cooperation with the International Committee of Red Cross. As to his Law Practice, Prof. Amr is an Attorney-at-Law (Cairo) and works as Independent Consultant (Paris) and Arbitrator. He is a Member of ICSID Panel of Arbitrators and Conciliators, KLRCA Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb) and ICC Arab Arbitration Group (ICC). In the field of Diplomacy, Dr. Amr served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Egypt to UNESCO (2000 – 2004) and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Egypt to UNESCO (2012 – 2016). In this capacity, he participated in the negotiations of some of UNESCO’s international conventions, declarations and instruments.
