The course aims at teaching:
- the ability to analyse and understand transport law, with particular reference to the national and international law, the uniform private international law and the European Union law;
- the ability to set (in written and oral form) legal issues related to the main themes of the syllabus, with reference to the contracts for the use of the means of transport and the carrier’s liability in connection with the protection of the different (public and private) interests belonging to citizens, users and consumers;
- an appropriate and specific disciplinary lexicon, an ability to formulate independent judgements about cases and a method that allows the continuous learning and updating of the student’s knowledge.
With consideration to the specific statutory regulation, the road, maritime and aeronautic contracts will be examined with reference to the regulation of the carrier’s liability. The course will consider Italian regulation, uniform law and the European Community regulation.
Great consideration will be devoted to specific contracts, such as the subtransport, the multimodal transport and above all, the supply chain contract, because the last is acquiring great importance in our commercial system.
With reference to every mean of transport, the problem of security and safety will be considered.
