The course provides students with skills and knowledge necessary to operate as legal expert in transnational commercial transactions and related disputes. This goal is pursued by analysing rules arising from different sources which govern international commercial transactions and are common to several legal systems. Legal instruments to be considered will thus include “hard law” instruments, such as international conventions, and EU regulations and directives, as well as “soft law” instruments, such as model laws, collections of trade usages and clauses, and codifications of principles often used in transnational commerce.
