Abstract (italian):
The thesis examines the relationship between international commercial arbitration and economic sanctions. Focusing on the geopolitical upheaval caused by the war in Ukraine, it shows how sanctions increasingly affect arbitral jurisdiction, the substantive rights of the parties, and the enforcement of arbitral awards. Through a comparative analysis of legislation, case law, arbitral practice, and scholarship, the research situates international commercial arbitration within the broader transformations of the contemporary geopolitical landscape
