- Crowdfunding is an alternative source of financing businesses which has significantly grown in European countries in the last years, despite the absence of a common regulation for it. Focusing in particular on equity-based crowdfunding, this paper analyzes how fashion companies can use it not only to get funding but also as a marketing tool. By examining some regulations recently enacted or revised in the main European countries, it will be possible to have a general view of possible applications of equity crowdfunding in the fashion industry.
