The work consists in an in-depth study of Article 25 eIDAS Regulation, which governs the legal effect of electronic signatures, except for advanced signatures, governed by Article 26. The work analyses the three general principles set out in this provision, namely: a) the principle of non-discrimination of the instrument due to its electronic form or because it does not meet the requirements for qualified electronic signatures; b) the principle of equivalence between qualified electronic signatures and handwritten signature; c) the principle of mutual recognition of qualified electronic signatures throughout the European Union.
