This paper provides an overview of the impact of the 1980 United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods on the Italian legal system. In view of its goal, the paper makes a distinction between the Convention's impact on practicing lawyers, its impact on scholars, its impact on domestic courts and its impact on the Italian national legislator. On the basis of the analysis carried out, the paper makes an attempt at indicating the way forward in the implementation of uniform contract law conventions in national legal systems.
